Movie vs Movie, also called MvM, is operated by YOUR_DEVELOPER_NAME_OR_STORE_NAME, an individual developer. MvM is a movie discovery, social comparison, movie list, and movie game app.
This Privacy Policy explains what data is collected, how it is used, and how users can control or delete their account.
Data We Collect
- Account data: email address, username, display name, password hash, profile picture, profile settings, and account timestamps.
- App activity: movie votes, watched movies, watchlist items, decks, follows, friend requests, notifications, posts, comments, reactions, and share interactions.
- Uploaded content: profile pictures and images attached to posts when a user chooses to upload them.
- Technical data: server logs, request metadata, error logs, and diagnostics needed to run and protect the service.
How We Use Data
- To create and secure accounts.
- To keep users signed in and support password reset.
- To show movie recommendations, battles, game rounds, watchlists, decks, profiles, posts, comments, and notifications.
- To let users follow actors and filmmakers and connect with friends.
- To prevent abuse, debug issues, improve reliability, and operate the service.
Third-Party Services And Sources
- Movie metadata, images, trailers, and related cinema data may come from TMDB. This product uses the TMDB API but is not endorsed or certified by TMDB.
- YouTube embeds may be used for official trailers.
- Email delivery may be used for password reset and account support.
- Google, Microsoft, or Apple sign-in may be used only if enabled in the app.
Data Sharing
- We do not sell personal data.
- Public profile information, posts, comments, reactions, and movie activity may be visible to other users depending on privacy settings and feature behavior.
- Service providers may process data only to operate the app, such as hosting, email delivery, analytics, crash reporting, or authentication.
- We may disclose data if required by law or to protect users, the service, or legal rights.
Data Retention And Deletion
- Users can delete their account from Settings in the app.
- Users can also request account deletion at http://jmptwzdfx47mew97q0badae7.54.36.99.180.sslip.io/account-deletion.
- Account deletion removes the account and associated personal data such as profile data, posts, comments, votes, lists, decks, connections, messages, and notifications, except where retention is legally required or necessary for security or fraud prevention.
- Backup copies and logs may persist for a limited period before automatic deletion.
Security
- Production traffic must use HTTPS.
- Passwords are stored as password hashes, not plaintext.
- Authentication tokens are stored using secure device storage where available.
